Life is but a stopping place,

A pause in what’s to be,

A resting place along the road

to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,

Different paths along the way,

We all were meant to learn

some things,

But never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place

far greater than we know,

For some, the journey’s quicker,

For some the journey’s slow.

And when the journey finally ends,

We’ll claim a great reward,

And find an everlasting peace,

Together with the Lord.

Iapicca -  Maria (Vitale) of East Boston, formerly of Mirabella Eclano in Italy, passed away on Wednesday December 8th, 2010.

 

Beloved wife of the late Michael Iapicca.

 

Dear sister of Addolorata (Vitale) Cappuccio and predeceased by nine sisters and two brothers.

 

Loving aunt of Raffaele Cappuccio and his wife Norma of Revere, Carolina Cerrato and her husband Giovanni of Italy, Thomas Minichiello and his wife Fran of Cape Cod, Assunta Capodano of Medford, Maria (Capodano) Sodano and her late husband Luigi of Winthrop, Alicia (Capodano) Biasella and her husband Nicola of Cambridge, the late Michele Cappuccio and his surviving wife Emanuela of Medford, the late Antonia (Capodano) DeSantis and her surviving husband Federico of Winthrop, the late Maria (Minichello) Barletta and her late husband Anthony, Rocco Iapicca and his wife Tanina of North Reading, Bernardina (Iapicca) Scippa and her husband Raffaele, Lina (Iapicca) Scippa and her late husband Joseph of Revere, James Iapicca of East Boston and Pasquale Iapicca.

 

Also survived by her many adored nieces and nephews in Italy as well as her many great nieces and nephews..

 

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston on Monday December 13th at 9:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Mrs. Iapicca's life in St.Joseph-St.Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston at 10:00am.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 12th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

 

Relatives and friends respectfully invited.

 

In honoring Mrs. Iapicca's life, memorial donation may be made to the Don Orione Home, 111 Orient Avenue, East Boston MA  02128.

 

Maria was born in Italy in 1915 to the late Tommaso and Anna (Imbrogna) Vitale. She came to America in 1966 and settled in East Boston. Maria passed away peacefully with her nephew Neffo by her bedside in the Don Orione Home in Orient Heights on Wednesday evening, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, after a brief illness. She was 95 years of age.

 

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample attendant off street parking is also available in our 3 parking lots. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

 

Services will conclude with Maria being laid to rest in the Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

 

Non si levi in piedi alla mia tomba e
